License Email Notifications
SOLO Server supports sending two types of license email notifications:
- Manually sent notifications initiated by a logged in user.
- Automated notifications sent on a daily basis through a scheduled job.
Manually Sent Notifications
Manually sent notifications can be sent as follows:
- Search for the license in SOLO Server.
- On the License Details page, click the License button and choose Email Customer.
- Choose a mailing template to send from the drop down, which should be configured based on the Custom License Mailing.
- The TO field will be automatically populated with the customer email address.
- Add any additional email addresses to notify to the TO, CC, and BCC fields. Multiple email addresses can be entered in each field, separated by either commas or semicolons.
- Optionally click the Preview button to preview the content that will be sent.
- Click the Send button.
Note that this functionality also supports several search and replace variables within the subject and body of the mailing template. For more information on these, see Custom License Mailings. Be careful not to send a mailing with unsupported search and replace fields present, as these will show up in the email to the customer.
Automated Notifications
There are several Daily Processes which send automated email notifications based on certain license conditions:
- Customer Subscription Expiration Process - sends an email notification a given number of days prior to a license reaching expiration (can include a table with all licenses that have expiration dates)
- First Activation Follow Up Process - sends an email notification a given number of days after first activation.
- Non Activated License Notification Process - sends an email notification a given number of days after a license is created if it has not yet activated.
- Subscription Expiration Process - sends an email notification a given number of days prior to a license reaching expiration.
For more information on configuring these automated notifications see the topic on Daily Processes.
