Adding a Bundled Product and Product Option

The SOLO Server integrated shopping cart allows bundled items to be sold. A bundle is basically a group of items that acts as a single item on the cart and it allows discounts to be applied. When an order is completed, all products in a bundle are broken out into the individual items.

Bundles work just like regular products, which consist of a product with multiple product options. Each product option has its own price and rules behind its availability.

Bundles will display on the cart with a breakdown of the included options, as well as a message stating the bundle discount if applicable.

To Add a Bundled Product:

  1. Go to the menu Configure / Products. On the product list page, use the Actions dropdown and choose Add Bundle.
  2. Fill in the appropriate fields. Refer to Product Field List to see definitions for all fields. Note the bundled products have far fewer fields than regular products, so all of the fields listed in the Product Field List will not show up.
  3. Click Submit.
  4. The next screen allows you to set up which products will be included in the bundle. Note that you should define all items at this point, as there is currently no functionality to add new items to a bundle once it has been created. Select the products from the drop down and click Add Product to add a product to the bundle. Once at least two products are defined (which can be the same product), a Done button will appear next to the Add Product button. Click this when all products have been added to the bundle.

To Add a Bundled Product Option

  1. On the View Bundled Product page, click the Add Product Option button in the Current Options tab at the bottom.
  2. Fill in the appropriate fields. Refer to Product Option Field List to see definitions for all fields. Note the bundled product options have far fewer fields than regular product options, so all of the fields listed in the Product Option Field List will not show up. At the bottom of the page, there will be a drop down containing all options for each product defined in the bundle. Select the desired option for each product. You may also optionally enter a bundle discount for each item in the bundle. This is the discount that will be applied to the product for purchasing the bundle. Note that options associated with payment plans cannot be added to bundles, so they will not show up in the list. If any of the products in the bundle do not have an eligible option, the submit button will be disabled and the bundled option cannot be created.
  3. Click Submit.

Duplicating an existing Bundled Product Option

If you have an existing Bundled Product Option, you can duplicate the data for the option to a new Bundled Product Option. Simply select the option from the Product List or Product Details page. Then use the Actions dropdown and choose Duplicate. Then follow the instructions in Duplicating Product Options.

To Edit a Bundled Product or Product Option

To edit a bundled product or bundled product option go to the menu Configure / Products. This will display a list of all products and product options. To edit the bundled product or bundled product option, simply click on the name of the product or product option and the corresponding product or product option page will appear. At the top of the page, use the Actions dropdown to choose Edit . Bundled product options can also be edited from the Current Options tab at the bottom of the bundled product page by clicking the option name.
