Duplicating Product Options
In order to quickly set up multiple product options for a product, SOLO Server users with the Add Product permission enabled can duplicate an existing product option. To duplicate a product option, navigate to the option details page of the product option to duplicate click the Actions button, and choose Duplicate. This will take you to a new page with the following options:
- New Option Name
- The name for the new option.
- New Option Price
- The price for the new option (for bundled products this will be disabled as SOLO Server will compute the price based on the included options). Important note: Setting the price to zero allows someone to use the cart to process an order without entering a credit card, even if you are not using the eCommerce engine of SOLO Server. It is recommended that you set the Unit Price to a value greater than zero unless you specifically want to allow this or have set up a cart rule to verify eligibility for a free upgrade.
- Duplicate Priority Codes
- Check this to duplicate all of the priority codes from the existing option to the new option.
- Duplicate Shipping
- Check this to duplicate all of the shipping options from the existing option to the new option.
- Duplicate Upsells
- Check this to duplicate all of the upsells from the existing option to the new option.
- Duplicate Rules
- Check this to duplicate and rules from the existing option to the new option (for bundled products this will be disabled because bundles cannot have rules).
- Duplicate Extended Pricing
- Check this to duplicate all extended pricing rules from the existing option to the new option.
Once you have filled in these fields, simply click the Submit button and the new option will be created and displayed. Note that the new option is created hidden and disabled so that it does not immediately show up in the online catalog before you review the settings and make any changes. You will need to unhide and enable it, which are the Hidden and Enabled product option settings.
