Shopping Cart Overview

SOLO Server currently offers an integrated shopping cart that will allow you to easily sell your products and services. The storefront can be customized, and orders can be processed through the cart in different ways. It is also possible to support automatically recurring payments. To process payments, you will need a merchant account and compatible payment gateway.

At checkout, anonymous/new customers will register their contact information to make a purchase using the shopping cart. Existing customers can log in to make another purchase, and use the Customer License Portal to purchase renewals and upgrades based on the licenses/products they already have.

The look and feel of the shopping cart can be customized. See the Customize SOLO Server Storefront topic for additional information. It is also possible to change the behavior of many cart features through the Cart Options and Advanced Cart Options.

Features of the Shopping Cart

• Flexible interface - The cart offers flexibility when linking in from an external site. The interface allows multiple actions to be completed in a single call to the shopping cart page.
• Screen reader accessibility - The markup of the cart is fully accessible to screen readers.
• Input validation - The client and server side validation of the cart is user friendly.
• Category support - The author catalog page supports filtering by category.
• Dynamic menu support - Search and replace parameters are available in the storefront markup which support creating dynamically generated menus by product and category.
• Meta tag support - Search and replace parameters are available in the storefront markup to support inserting the meta tag settings from categories or products into the markup on the catalog and product details pages.
• Multi-language support - The cart can be displayed in English, French, German, Italian,or Spanish.
• Currency Prefix/Postfix support - Currency values can be prefixed/postfixed with user defined values.
• Distributor Mode - Distributor Mode is supported by the cart, allowing a distributor user to log in to the cart using their distributor UserID/Password.
• Support for many other additional Cart Options and Advanced Cart Options.
